Last night was the second to last Prince concert at The Forum in Inglewood, CA as his 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles concert residency comes to a close. I attended last night’s show with my good friend Josh and an AMAZING friend of his hooked us up with VIP tickets and aftershow passes. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige opened up for and performed with Prince during last night’s concert. Honestly, all of the Prince shows have been special … but this may be the most special of all.

Sadly, the security was really super tight all night long so I wasn’t able to take any photos AT ALL. Not one. But I can assure you, it was a magical night of music. Mary J. Blige KILLED her performance. That woman sings with her whole heart … it was such a treat to get to see her perform before Prince‘s set. During Prince‘s set, she came out to duet with him on Nothing Compares 2 U (with Maceo Parker on saxophone) and they gave the most stunning performance of that song that I have ever heard … period! The setlist was packed with hits … there wasn’t an empty seat in the entire arena … it was nothing but LOVE all night long. Here is the setlist from last night’s show:

Last night was the 20th show of the 21 Nite Stand … and Prince just keeps on bringing the HEAT! Josh and I had the best time ever!! After the show, we made our way to the Forum Club for the afterparty and waiting patiently in front of the set up stage in the hopes that Prince would play another set of music. DJ Rashida provided the amazing music and we ended up dancing the night away. Unfortch, Prince did not perform … but we did have a blast dancing with members of Prince‘s band to the best playlist of music ever! We had a late, late night … and tonight, I’m going back for one last time. Prince‘s 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles ends tonight … I can’t even wait to see how it will all end.

The world collectively shivered, and then gagged, when it was reported that 51-year-old Doug Hutchison married 16-going-on-meth-faced Courtney Stodden, which of course, is most creepy given the fact that her parents consented to what is essentially statutory rape!

But luckily, her mother Krista has opened up about the whole debacle, and wants the world to approve of the modern-day Romeo and Juliet, because she does!

She explains:

'He’s not creepy. He is such a great guy, he’s so intelligent. I see why they’re together, he looks like he’s in his early 30s, and Courtney looks like he’s in her late 20s. It’s like they’re talking about someone else when they say bad things about Doug. He’s with my daughter and I wouldn’t want a creepy guy with my daughter. He’s a wonderful, great man. Doug was managing Courtney's career, but he has so many things coming his way that he just can't handle it all. It will be better for Courtney with me managing her. I love my daughter, and I've been a good parent.'

A paparazzo by the name of Willem Pieterson has accused Australian country singer Keith Urban of going on the attack. Get the latest here on Urban’s run in last Wednesday in Nashville. Out and about having dinner with his actress wife, Nicole Kidman, in Nashville, Tennessee last Wednesday, Keith Urban allegedly became angry after a photographer, Willem Pieterson, began snapping pictures of the two celebrities as they were leaving a restaurant by the name of Giovanni’s. In a statement issued by Don Aaron of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department to Gossip Cop, Urban (per Pieterson’s filed report) got into his car with Nicole Kidman and then proceeded to pull up to the photographer’s “vehicle in the wrong lane. Last night David and I met up with our friends Emma and Josh for a night out at The Music Box in Hollywood to see the New Zealand band The Naked and Famous live in concert. David is a HUGE fan of the band so it was all his planning that got us out and to the show. He’s not a big concert fan so I was happy to encourage him. The show was really fun and we all had a great time … even Josh, despite how miserable he looks in our photo below ;)

I quite like many of the band’s songs … tho, in all honesty, I kinda felt like they all sounded very similar. The Naked and the Famous sound like Empire of the Sun but with a female vocalist. The show as packed with hipsters who looked like they fell out of the new Urban Outfitters catalog. We even ran into Audrina Patridge so … yeah, ’twas a fun show:

I promise, Josh had fun … I swear.

Tonight, my friend Ollie and I are heading out to The Greek Theater to see Lykke Li in concert. Wee! I’ve never seen her live before so … it should be a blast :D Happy Hump Day!!
